FAQ
Do I need an architect or a structural engineer first?
If you already know the layout you want (e.g., remove a wall, add a dormer), a structural engineer can advise what’s feasible and design the members. For larger schemes, an architect plus engineer is ideal.
How long does it take?
Typical small jobs (single beam) are turned around quickly once we have the info we need. Extensions/lofts take longer depending on complexity and survey information.
What will I receive?
A concise set of calculations and sketches that satisfy Building Control and clearly guide your builder.
What areas do you cover?
London and nearby areas. Remote/desk-based work available if you can provide sufficient information.
